Heather & Rob will always hold an extra special spot in my heart. Their inquiry to our website for information on their upcoming wedding was the very FIRST one we received after launching our new website on December 30, 2014. It came just a short four hours after the site went live, and to be perfectly honest, I WAS REALLY EXCITED!!! After 9 months of hard work bringing the site to life, it was kind of like giving birth. And my new baby had its first visitor, raving about what they saw. The truth be told it was Heather’s adorable mom Casey who actually made the inquiry on her behalf- and you will hear and SEE more about Casey in this post.
Heather and I spent quite a bit of time brainstorming the perfect session that would allow them to let their love and romance shine along with their fun loving personalities. We checked on the three locations we would be going to and made sure we had permission to be there. We went over clothing and props. Heather’s mom Casey came along to shlep and encourage- although she mostly stayed in the background unless we asked her to join in.
It’s hard to explain the magic that happened in words. Suffice it to say, this is exactly why we include an engagement session in all of our packages. We feel that it in an invaluable tool to get to know our couples and work with them before the actual wedding day. And we have so much FUN!
We started at Intelligentsia Coffee on Colorado Blvd. in downtown Pasadena. Not only do they have yummy coffee drinks, they were happy to have us there and even gave their thumbs up approval to this couple.
The back alley behind the coffee house with its great brick wall and vintage look proved too tempting to pass up on our way to Pasadena City Hall.
City Hall was perfect with it’s warm, beautiful afternoon light. We didn’t even let the picketers get in our way!
Then it was off to the bridge- for more fun with our able assistant. We can’t wait for their beautiful wedding day at the Westlake Village Inn in October!
Jodie & Greg’s wedding was filled with nostalgia for us. There were so many touching, emotional moments, so much love, and so many friends and family to share each one with. This is just a glimpse into their day, mostly … Continue reading
The date of this wedding was very meaningful: it was the anniversary of their first date. Two self proclaimed nerds who met online and within 12 short months fell in love, got engaged, planned an amazing wedding, and got married. That’s … Continue reading
We had so much fun planning for their wedding with Ashley & Mason that we knew it was going to be an awesome day. Their engagement pictures at Paradise Cove Beach in Malibu with their adorable yellow lab pups were … Continue reading
Another rave review for R & R, this one from Jessica:
Jody and David are truly amazing! They did our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos and they were an absolute delight to work with! Their ability to get amazing shots and with such detail to everything is truly a gift! I would recommend their services to any of my close friends and family without a shadow of a doubt! The two of them were professional, easy to work with and very flexible. The end result, our photos were truly breath taking! We have received so many compliments on their photo abilities.
I am truly 100% satisfied with the service we received from RandR Creative Photography and from David and Jody personally. I felt like they were family from the first moment we met. They made both my husband and I feel comfortable and relaxed during the engagement photos and at the wedding.
We have known Andrew most of his life and were so excited to meet Katie—the sweet, fun-loving girl he is going to marry.
Their engagement session at Mentryville was a blast! Andrew’s parents brought along Paul’s vintage ’29 Ford Model A as the ultimate prop, and they also helped protect the adorable pup from a waiting mountain lion. (What a story!)
We can’t wait for their beautiful wedding next May at Walnut Grove!
Another rave review for R & R, this one from Casey:
We had Dave & Jody do our wedding photos and engagement photos. WOW!!!!
Our pictures have come out so amazing. We have so many people that have commented on how beautiful the pictures have come out for both the engagement photos and for the wedding photos.
Dave and Jody have been doing photography for years and the quality definitely shows. I know Photoshop can do a lot to make a photo look good, but their skill with their tools cannot be manipulated with a computer application. Also, when it comes time for the composition of the photo book, Jody is a master. She will run it down as to how she does what she does, if you want her to, or you just let her do it. Either way, you will see the phenomenal results that come about from what they do.
They care, not just about how the pictures will come out, but also about your satisfaction as a customer. A quality that didn’t seem to matter to some of the vendors I met with. One in particular made me feel like he was too good to do my wedding. You won’t get that with Dave and Jody.
We had a great time with them also. They are such a cute couple.
Like I said about the other Vendors we had, they care about you and your happiness, not just about getting paid. It comes through in the quality of the photos and the genuine smiles they will get from your family.
Since we include an engagement session with all of our wedding coverage, it is not uncommon for us to go to the same location more than once. One of our goals becomes to always find something new and unique about … Continue reading
Casey really loved the idea of going to downtown Los Angeles to capture her engagement portraits with honey Mauricio-we explained that some buildings could be strict about permits-she was determined and did all the leg work and got permissions from the spots she wanted to go to – last on her list was the light installation outside LACMA on Wilshire Blvd. in the Miracle Mile District. Casey’s day started with expert hair and makeup by Samantha Singer- and wow! what a knockout she was!
Here’s a peek at the fun we had, however, we didn’t know that we would have the most fun reading this email from Casey AFTER she saw the portraits last night:
