Missy & Greg’s Wedding at Valencia Country Club: Vintage Shabby Chic Lights up the Night
You would think that if you went to kiss a girl at the end of a first date, and completely missed her mouth and had your tongue land on her nose, you might give up and never see her again. Luckily, Greg was not ever giving up on Missy. Persistence and love paid off—the relationship blossomed, and their June wedding was the culmination of many years of perfect kisses, planning, and romance.
Hours and hours of meticulous care were taken to transform Valencia Country Club into a pink & white, vintage, shabby chic wonderland. Charmaine filled Missy’s vision with fabulous flowers, Rusty and A V Party Rentals provided all the rental items, Sharon Stanman of Painted Joy contributed hand-lettered signs, Missy’s own father actually created and manufactured the doors they entered through, and J & M Entertainment‘s Jorge Lopez was the MC to the partying and fun, which was nonstop and even included one of the Backstreet Boys (!) dancing with his new wife out on the dance floor. We felt fortunate to be there to capture it all—check out our smiling faces at the end!
Disneyland is the Place for Romantic Engagement Portraits of Hillary & Anthony
One of the things we stress to all of our wedding couples is the importance of an engagement session for us to get to know each other before the actual wedding day. We can personalize the experience by going to … Continue reading
Your Perfect Engagement Session
Whether you love hiking and frequent the trails around the Placerita Nature Center, spend every free moment at the beach, love to explore the little shops in Solvang, consider your black lab to be an important family member, want to recreate your proposal, love and collect classic muscle cars, need save the date cards to announce your wedding to family & friends, have never had a “good” picture of the two of you together, enjoy strolling the gardens around your favorite restaurant, have a fiancé works for Edison and you love the light post exhibit at LACMA, or have no idea what you want to do for your engagement portraits, we can help you.
We feel there is no better way to express your individuality, get acquainted with your photographers, feel comfortable in front of the camera, and allow us to capture the chemistry of your love and relationship than with an engagement session in a natural, relaxed setting. That is why we include this important session in all of our wedding coverage. Besides, we love getting out of the studio and exploring all of the great places Southern California has to offer.
We hope you enjoy looking at some of the places we have been recently with our couples. Planning for these sessions is the most fun because it really lets us brainstorm and let our imaginations wander. Some couples are more serious, others romantic, others fun loving and silly… that’s what makes it so interesting for us. It’s a great way to set us up for success the day of your wedding, it breaks the ice, and it gives you lots of great shots which you can display at the wedding, or you can use them to create a guest book or sign-in board for your guests to enjoy. It also builds your confidence in yourselves and us and makes the wedding day even more enjoyable as far as picture-taking. Don’t miss out on this important part of your engagement!
Vintage Backyard Wedding Spotlighted in New Composites
Jennifer & Andy had a traditional ceremony at Blessed Kateri Catholic Church and a vintage inspired, elegant reception in Jennifer’s parents’ spacious Agua Dulce backyard. Check out the amazing attention to detail, and the purple and brown color scheme. Charmaine’s Bouquet Canyon Florist provided the beautiful flowers to complement Jennifer’s vision.
Redbury Hotel Promised to be new Hot Spot for Weddings-Sam & Neda were the First!
The Redbury Hotel is a new boutique hotel from the sbe group. It is located in the heart of Hollywood at Hollywood and Vine, directly across the street from the iconic Capitol Records tower. Neda & Sam’s Wedding was the FIRST one they have held there. The venue is amazing…hip, trendy, stunning, fabulous! It was such a treat for us to explore every nook and cranny and to shoot among the stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Along with their beautiful daughters this couple celebrated with family and friends this wonderful February day. We can’t wait to return.
Nikki & Jeremy’s Vintage Fall Wedding at Gardens of Paradise
Nikki & Jeremy’s wedding had it all…a beautiful location, an awesome, fun, funky couple, a horse drawn carriage, the In-N- Out Burger truck for a midnight snack, Adee Dory coordinating every detail, fabulous flowers from Charmaine’s Florist, loving family & friends. The photographs tell the story. Enjoy!
Some Things Are Meant To Be…Like the Blending of Cultures at Marissa & Joe’s Sportsmen’s Lodge Wedding
Some things really are meant to be. Marissa & Joe are both nurses. They both work at UCLA Medical Center. That is where this storybook romance started. Their wedding was the blending of cultures and families. Their parents, Marissa’s daughter, Joe’s nephews, and all of their siblings, were active participants in the ceremony and festivities. Both Rabbi Jerry Fisher and Father Norman Supanchek officiated during the ceremony which started with a ketubah signing and included a unity candle ceremony and breaking a glass. You need only look at the joy in the faces of the family while watching to know what a success the ceremony was.
The reception was nonstop fun with a rigorous hora, one of the biggest challahs we have ever seen and dancing all night long. Marissa & Joe’s wedding was just what a wedding should be…a celebration! And we were happy to be there to celebrate with them.

Olivia and Michael-First Love Couple Wed at Bridgeport Clubhouse in Valencia
Olivia is one determined young lady. Case in point- her older brother brought her groom Michael home for the first time; as his friend to hang out with. Then 12 year old Olivia spotted him and said- “I am going to marry him”. Well many, many years later she was finally allowed to date him, and yes, marry the man of her dreams. Who says persistence doesn’t pay off. Their Bridgeport wedding was like a dream come true!
We had such a great time with this sweet couple who take such good care of each other. We weren’t surprised when Michael sent a bag of McDonald’s french fries into the dressing room for his bride to munch on before starting photos. Their black, red and white themed candy bar was a big hit with all their guests.
We wish them both the happily ever after they deserve!

Vintage Western Engagement Portraits for Nikki & Jeremy Capture The Look of Love at Mentryville
We first met Nikki and her mom at the beginning of the year, and had a great time planning for Nikki’s upcoming wedding to Jeremy at Gardens of Paradise in Agua Dulce. We always stress the importance of an engagement session before a wedding, and we feel it is so important to the overall success of the wedding photographs, that we include the session in all of our packages. There really is no better way to get to know your clients, how to best photograph them, and instill confidence in you with them, then to actually create portraits for them that they love. We pay close attention to what our couples tell us about what they are looking for. Over thirty years of experience has taught us how critical this is, and it also keeps things fresh and interesting for us. Every session is different, even if the location is the same, because of this interaction and exchange.
Since the actual session was our first time meeting Jeremy, we made sure his voice was heard. We could tell Jeremy was an artistic, creative, individual and welcomed his input. We processed the images in lots of different black and white and sepia variations, and these were their favorites. We also had a chance to utilize some of the cool, old, rusty equipment in Mentryville as props. The most important thing to us, was that Nikki and Jeremy were able to relax and enjoy the session, and we really could see the love they had for one another. It was in their eyes!
We can’t wait to explore Gardens of Paradise with them, meet their bridal party, and the rest of the family. We will keep you posted.
