You know it’s going to be a great engagement sitting when the couple is on time, in the right location, wearing coordinated clothing, and brings along with them a file folder full of ideas-including an ampersand that Alison custom-created and made-by-hand to execute a shot she had in mind. What more can your photographers ask for? It was a beautiful evening in Santa Monica and we got to window shop, listen to street music, people watch, drink Starbucks, eat cotton candy, play on the beach, and create these incredible images. That’s what we consider FUN! We hope you enjoy these romantic images that captured Alison & Tony’s personality along with the surroundings of one of their favorite places to hang out.

Shannon & Chris Engagement Portraits at Mentryville
Shannon & Chris and entourage (sister Rebecca and Boxer puppy Bear) were so much fun when we photographed their engagement session at Mentryville. It was tough not to take Bear home with us- he was so adorable and well behaved. We could never have done it without Rebecca’s help and we can’t wait to all work together again at their wedding this Memorial Day weekend.

We first met Kaiti when Jake was still in Iraq with his Marine Corps unit and she was busy planning the wedding and making decisions. She asked us if we could hold the date until Jake came home in December because this was a decision he really wanted to participate in. Who could say no to Kaiti? So we did and got to meet Jake shortly after his safe return. He agreed with Kaiti’s decision that we were the one for them and it has been our pleasure to continue planning with them for their May wedding.
When they suggested Vasquez Rocks for their engagement session, we were happy to hear it was available. We had almost forgotten just how beautiful it was and had a great time capturing it and meeting Tucker, the 6-month-old lab we had heard so much about. Try as we might, we were unable to “tucker” this little guy out, but he was well behaved when he wasn’t chewing on grass or trying to eat rocks.

Thank you Darlene and Tony for giving us a much needed mini-vacation this past weekend in beautiful Big Bear Lake. We loved exploring around town and going up to the slopes of Snow Summit with you. The images look like postcards and you two are the perfect couple to advertise for a day of fun in the snow.

For a minute we thought SJP (Sarah Jessica Parker) was at the studio when Erin arrived ready to go — besides being quite striking, she bears quite a resemblance to the star. Erin & Dari started their engagement sitting here at the studio so Erin could have the opportunity to pose in her traditional Qashqai wedding attire with Dari. We could have spent all day with the magnificent colors and multi-layered garments, but it was off to Angeles National Golf Club for some more romantic portraits.
