In weddings, as in real estate, it’s all about location, location, location. Trying to balance budget and dreams can be a delicate balance. This year we were fortunate to go to many familiar locations, and quite a few new ones as … Continue reading
What a wonderful year it has been for the Veis family! Carolyn & Andrew got married (see our “Shooting Through the Tears” post) in January and now Emma & Josh got married in September at beautiful Calamigos Ranch. We have known this wonderful family for over 25 years, photographed the kids’ B’nai Mitzvahs and shared many memorable milestones with them and their extended family.
Emma and Josh are the cutest couple—self nicknamed Mini Muffin. Just look at all the amazing attention to detail at their wedding. There were so many touching moments throughout the day, it’s hard to remember every one—lucky we have photographs to help us tell their story.
Emma’s brother, Andrew, was rabbi for the day and did an amazing job at both the ketubah signing and the ceremony. I don’t think anyone there will forget his infamous “selfie” as they got up to the chuppah. I also won’t forget Emma & Josh fist bumping after the bedecking ceremony—they were ready to go.
The most poignant moments came for me when Emma was getting ready and someone asked her if she wanted a glass of champagne. She responded no, and told me she wanted to remember every moment of the day, and not even take a chance at blurring her own memories. Combine that with Emma wearing her mom Margie’s veil and having the two grandmas (both Josh’s and Emma’s) there while she was dressing, and it was just so much positive energy.
Emma was a radiant bride, genuinely happy and jubilant all day long. Josh was with her 100%, making our job so easy and so much fun!
We wish both families many, many years of happiness, and some grandchildren along the way!

Review from Tina & Mike:
What was your favorite wedding photo?
I really cant pin point one out of the hundreds, I have so many favorites.
How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits?
There are so many great family shots but some of my favorite candid shots are when my son was doing something to make me left you me in the background cracking up…great memories!
What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers?
What wasnt included in our wedding package?!?! Everything that was included was engagement session, guest book (amazing), 2 photographers at wedding they were there from start to get ready till end of night, beautiful slide show…hope im not leaving anything out
How did the photographer make you and family comfortable?
David and Jody are truly amazing photographers! I have looked at all pictures of our wedding and I am going to have a hard time picking out my favs for our album. They caught every moment so beautifully. This was one vendor that I could say it was worth every penny!!! They caught all the funny moments throughout the night of my son, which are some of my favorite pictures. These pictures are the memories that were captured that we will have for life. I was so stressed before wedding and in the pictures you wouldnt even be able to tell, Jody made me feel so pretty with the different poses and had all the right things to say to try and loosen me up. I highly recommend them for your next wedding and engagement photos!!!
Review from Kelly:
Holy cow. There are so many to choose from. I have several from our engagement with the beautiful sunsets and clouds at the beach. I also have several from our wedding- Zach and I under the arch “seek happiness,” a few with the MG old fashioned car, a couple of us dancing, a picture with my brother, some with my mom getting ready, and a couple dancing with my father. It’s hard to choose.
They gave themselves plenty of time. They were prepared beforehand and asked questions of what we wanted. Candids and action shots were great. Portraits were good as well.
Our wedding package included all pics from the wedding, an album, a slideshow of our pics, an engagement session, and a guestbook of pictures. It included more than most other vendors.
We got to know them through several meetings during the months prior and my husband and I had an engagement session. They are very personable.
Thaesha’s tattoo says “The Beauty in Everything”, and this saying truly encapsulated Thaesha and Sam’s entire wedding day. From Thaesha’s beautiful smile and priceless expressions, to the fabulous setting and stunning flowers from Charmaine, to the way Sam’s face lit up when his bride was in view, romance and beauty were the words of the day.
The romance and love shared by this sweet couple are evident in every photograph. Their wedding was the ultimate expression of beauty and love.
It was our pleasure to have worked with them and helped refer so many of the Santa Clarita Valley’s premier vendors to help make their day so special.
We know these two and their families will share a beautiful future.

Review from Sherree:
David and Jody are Fabulous photographers. They captured some of the most precious moments at our wedding. We just celebrated our one year anniversary and after looking at our wedding album, it felt as if we just got married yesterday. In addition, they are sweetest people you’ll ever meet. I would like to share a personal experience that melted my heart. The day of our wedding, Jody offered to let me wear her bracelet because I didn’t have one and it matched my dress and necklace. She didn’t have to do that, but that moment in my dressing room was so special and I will never forget it. We appreciate all that the two of you have done for us. Thanks for capturing the moments on our wedding day.
Review from Paige:
There’s a reason the Ross’ have been our family photographers for over 25 years. After seeing the pictures from my parent’s wedding over 25 years ago and then my aunt and uncle’s wedding, we knew they’d do an amazing job!
Beach weddings are always special, but Tina & Mike’s wedding was extra special. There was no traditional bridal party: Tina’s son, Jacob, and her niece and nephew were the only attendants. Tina & Mike thought of every way to include Jacob in the ceremony and reception events. He even got to play DJ at the reception.
Tina’s planning and attention to detail was amazing. She thought of everything. The reverend who married them had married her sister and brother-in-law some years before, so there was a great rapport and family feeling about the ceremony.

The Vineyards in Simi Valley was a picturesque location for Katherine & Weston’s elegant wedding. The striking hot pink accents and Charmaine’s stunning flowers combined with the dramatic backdrop to create some pretty memorable images.
Katherine & Weston are a romantic, fun-loving couple. It was such a special moment when Katherine read her groom’s touching words as she was getting ready to see him for the first time that day.
What a fun, beautiful day for this special couple.
