Shannon & Chris and entourage (sister Rebecca and Boxer puppy Bear) were so much fun when we photographed their engagement session at Mentryville. It was tough not to take Bear home with us- he was so adorable and well behaved. We could never have done it without Rebecca’s help and we can’t wait to all work together again at their wedding this Memorial Day weekend.

Jayme Lynch SDSU Graduation Portraits and Being Your Photographer for Life!
We have had the pleasure of knowing the Lynch family for over twenty years. We first met when Jayme was three of four years old (scroll to the end) and we were photographing the family. Over the past twenty years we have updated those portraits on an annual basis — a fact the Jan can attest to with her shoe box full of holiday cards and walls filled with portraits. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph Jayme for her upcoming graduation from SDSU. This is exactly what we mean when we talk about lifecycle events and being your photographer for life. It just depends on what point in your lives we meet you. Thank you to Jay, Jan, Josh and Jayme for trusting us with your memories. We look forward to what is to come in the future (Weddings? Grandkids? New puppies?)
Photos from Kaiti & Jake’s Engagement
We first met Kaiti when Jake was still in Iraq with his Marine Corps unit and she was busy planning the wedding and making decisions. She asked us if we could hold the date until Jake came home in December because this was a decision he really wanted to participate in. Who could say no to Kaiti? So we did and got to meet Jake shortly after his safe return. He agreed with Kaiti’s decision that we were the one for them and it has been our pleasure to continue planning with them for their May wedding.
When they suggested Vasquez Rocks for their engagement session, we were happy to hear it was available. We had almost forgotten just how beautiful it was and had a great time capturing it and meeting Tucker, the 6-month-old lab we had heard so much about. Try as we might, we were unable to “tucker” this little guy out, but he was well behaved when he wasn’t chewing on grass or trying to eat rocks.
We hope you enjoy these images as much as we enjoyed creating them.

Thank you Darlene and Tony for giving us a much needed mini-vacation this past weekend in beautiful Big Bear Lake. We loved exploring around town and going up to the slopes of Snow Summit with you. The images look like postcards and you two are the perfect couple to advertise for a day of fun in the snow.

Erin & Dari’s wedding at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale was the perfect day you would expect from this storybook couple (previously featured in this blog — Part 1, Part 2). Their ceremony was a unique blend of cultures, individuals and love. More than once, this photographer had to wipe tears from her eyes and take a deep breath to go on, touched by the outpouring of love and support from family and friends.
Valencia Country Club Bridal Show
The weather was our friend yesterday at the beautiful Valencia Country Club for a beautiful bridal show with lots of great vendors. We were happy to meet some great brides and talk about their upcoming weddings. The fashion show and mock wedding were the highlight of the show.
